How To Tuesday:: Detoxification Baths

Bathing for detoxification has been around since before the Roman empire.
But these days, our schedules often keep us too busy to take the time to allow nature to work on our bodies by taking the time to take one of these simple baths.
Part of my detoxification regimen this year has been to take a bath every other day. Most of the time I take an apple cider vinegar bath with epsom salts, or a high grade hydrogen peroxide bath.
It is important to do some Body Brushing to activate your lymph system, and open up pores in your skin to allow for maximum detoxification.
You may experience flu-like symptoms during the detoxification because your body is ridding itself of poisons. You can get some relief from these symptoms by taking baths using epsom salts (1 to 2 cups) and baking soda (1 cup) in a tub of water and soaking for 20 minutes (soaking for more than 20 minutes may cause you to get too exhausted). On off days, you can put 1 cup of apple cider vinegar in the tub and soak.
applecidervinegar
This is used when the body is too acidic. This is a quick way of restoring the acid-alkaline balance. 1 cup to 2 quarts of 100% apple cider vinegar to a bathtub of warm water. Soak 40 to 45 minutes. This is excellent for excess uric acid in the body and especially for the joints, arthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, and gout.
Often times this bath makes my heart race quickly while I’m bathing and after. If this happens to you, decrease the amount of vinegar you put into the bath until your body can work up to 2 quarts.

Place 2 tea bags, or 1 cup chamomile in a hot bathtub. Soak for at least 20 minutes. This will break any fever quickly. Women who suffer from yeast infections will also benefit from a chamomile bath.
epsomsalts
Epsom salt baths are most likely the most universally known way to detoxify your body through baths. Add 2 cups epsom salts to hot water and soak for at least 20 minutes. Epsom can be added to any type of bath, and work well with vinegar baths. They are good for relieving muscle cramps, helping women who experience endometriosis or painful periods because of the high levels of magnesium, they help muscles and nerves function properly, makes insulin more effective, helps loosen up hardening arteries, relieves constipation and helps to detoxify the body from heavy metal poisoning.
