Happy Monday! I've got a big treat for you all today- a little video! I sat down to write you this really long detailed tutorial on using your DSLR camera and understanding white balance, then I realized that it would be SO MUCH easier for me to just explain it all to you!
If you are like me, you learn better visually.. so I am hoping this little tutorial is SO beneficial for you. It's my first time recording myself, so forgive me for the awkwardness, and for Dakota's bottom half in the background for the second half of the video. Hopefully I'll get better at this with practice:))
Now that you've listened to me ramble, I have put together some photos for you to see what a difference changing your white balance can make! All of these are SOOC (straight out of camera), and taken in the daylight. I have ignored all rules of composition in these so forgive me. They are simply to show you different examples of white balance.
Note: F=f. stop or aperture, S= Shutter Speed, and WB= White Balance
So there you have it! Congratulations if you've stuck around this long:). If you have ANY questions at all, please leave them in the comments section and I will address them in next week's video! We'll be going over ISO, so if you know of any questions you have about ISO before then, ask away.

great to see a nikon tutorial. I'm just starting and have a D40. I've had it for awhile just never took it off automatic.
ReplyDeletelook forward to more tutorials. especially the ISO.

Wish I could sit down with you for coffee to talk Jesus, photography, and life.
