DIY Fabric Covered Frames

Do you have any old frames laying around that need a new life?
I know we do! We did have a whole wall-ish of black and white frames with black and white photos in our old house, but I'm kind of tired of the black, so I gave them a facelift!

This is a great project for kids and adults.. as long as an adult is tagging along to handle the hot glue gun! We don't want any little burned fingers.
The supplies are pretty self-explanatory. I will say that I tried this with a frame that I intended to put the glass back into it for a photo.. but the fabric was too thick and the glass broke.
You may just want to stick with the oversized frame for a smaller photo or print and not worry about the glass!
As your wrapping the fabric around the frame, glue the fabric to the backside of the frame so that it doesn't show.
You really only have to glue the beginning and the end of the strips!

For the ribbon, I just cut a piece as wide as the frame and glued it on the back of the frame, onto the fabric. I tried to glue it as tight as I could so that the print didn't sag.
The prints are from Katie Daisy, y'all know how much I love her work! I am so excited to put these guys up around our new office space. They will bring some welcomed sunlight into our home:)

  1. Wow, what an amazingly creative idea! I have about 20 silver picture frames left over from my wedding, and they have been just sitting in a box since the summer. I think I have just found myself a fun weekend project! Thanks so much for sharing!!
