Office Makeover Love

So, now that David is in school full time, and I am spending more time at the computer editing photos and writing.. we seem to need more office space. Initially we thought it'd be a good idea to move the desk to the opposite wall from where it sits now and have a really long desk where we could both work. But we haven't found a desk at a thrift store yet that is what we are looking for.
if your curious about what the room looks like now, you can see some pictures I took of it a while ago here::our study.

And we just acquired our first grown up printer/scanner/copier!! so we need a home for that guy too.

I have been pinning some inspiration photos to help me get a clearer vision of where we may be heading and thought I'd share their beauty with you all.
I especially love the simplicity of the desk, and the inspiration wall behind the desk in this photo.
I again love the long table (could work for both of us), and the old box springs turned inspiration board.
We have old metal cabinets we use, so i like how the white and metal exist together in this..the drawers and all of the wonderful clip boards that can be interchanged with current inspiration! and of course, the chalkboard.
This might be one of my favorites, with the use of the suitcases for storage, the overhead light and the collection of prints.

I know I will be using elements from each of these inspirations to create our new space together, using what we have and using what we can score at a thrift store around here. I'm excited to see what we come up with! You can follow along with me on pinterest at Meg Newsom or by clicking here.

Do you think it will be better for us each to have our own workspace, or for us to share one large workspace?

  1. I personally like to have my own space so I think two work spaces might work better! I just redid my work space at home and thought you might enjoy my picture inspiration. http://cavegirlinthecity.com/monday-morning-motivation-workspaces/
